Leader
First elected to the Topeka City Council in 2015 to represent District 6, Brendan Jensen has held multiple leadership positions during his more than 20 years in the community. He has served as president of the College Hill Neighborhood Association and a member at large of the Downtown Topeka, Inc., Board of Directors. He currently chairs the Board of Directors for Positive Connections, is a member at large of the Jayhawk State Theatre of Kansas Board of Directors, and is the Treasurer for The Topeka Ski Club.
Innovator
In 2009, as a founding member of Think Big Topeka, Jensen worked to attract the Google Fiber Project to Topeka. As part of the United Way’s Young Leaders Society, he helped build the city’s first Born Learning Trail to benefit early learning for disadvantaged youths at Pine Ridge Preparatory Academy. He also worked with the Capital District Project to help lay the foundational work to revitalize Topeka’s core.
Downtown Business Owner
Jensen currently owns and operates two small businesses in downtown Topeka. Jensen Communications was established in 2014 to help small businesses and nonprofits develop and implement comprehensive technology strategies. In 2022, He helped start Hunter & Laine Boutique in downtown. Before becoming a full-time entrepreneur, he worked as the Director of Technology for the United Way of Greater Topeka. Jensen holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology Business Administration from Colorado Technical University, is an Eagle Scout, and is a 2012 graduate of Leadership Greater Topeka.
